New Nordic
The owner of this Oslo apartment wanted to create a home that stood apart from the typical Scandinavian aesthetic. Rather than the familiar palette of bright whites and pale woods, Gathe + Gram embraced a deeper, moodier expression of Nordic design, one that reflects individuality and depth.
Walls finished in rich tones of grey-blue and slate form a striking contrast to the home’s classical detailing and light oak flooring. The layered palette is paired with tactile materials, velvet and an antique brass coffee table, bringing warmth and texture to every room.
The design brief was centred around personality: to curate a space that feels meaningful, bold, and deeply personal to the residents. Art, lighting, and furniture were all carefully selected to reinforce the balance between sophistication and comfort.
The project was featured in Livingetc be bold edition and shortlisted for The International Design and Architecture awards in 2020.
